Manchester City forward Erling Haaland is just scoring goals for fun. After recently scoring his third hat-trick in the Premier League after only eight matches and setting up a new record, the Norwegian carried the same form in the Champions League, scoring a brace against FC Copenhagen at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday.
Manchester City winger Jack Grealish said that he was laughing after Haaland scored a brace. The English player also revealed FC Copenhagen goalkeeper Kamil Grabara told him Erling Haaland was not human after he could not keep him at bay.
Grealish said (as quoted by the Mirror): “It’s unbelievable honestly. I’ve never witnessed anything like it in my life. For the first and second goals, I was just laughing. He’s always there.”
He went on to add: “The keeper said something to me as I was walking back. He said ‘He’s not human.’ I said ‘You’re telling me!’ Hopefully, he can carry on this form and take us to glory.”
Haaland opened the scoring for Citizens in the seventh minute of the game while he doubled the lead in the 32nd minute. City has won all of their three matches in the Champions League to be at the top of Group C.
The home side went on to win by a convincing margin of 5-0 and continued their dominant run in the tournament.
Meanwhile, Pep Guardiola’s men also defeated Manchester United by 6-3 on Sunda after Erling Haaland and Phil Foden scored fine hat-tricks. City is currently in second place in the Premier League with six wins from eight matches and two draws.
Manchester City will next face Southampton on Saturday at their home ground of Etihad Stadium.
