According to recent media reports, Chelsea’s Italian midfielder Jorginho wants to return to Italy with teams like Juventus, Inter Milan and AC Milan all interested in securing his services. This report was recently confirmed by the midfielder’s agent Joao Santos who admitted that his client wants to return to his country.
Even Jorginho himself has agreed that the fact of going back to Italy and playing in the Serie A is something that entices him and in future, he would certainly return to his homeland. Now his agent also reiterated the same things as he looks to embark on a new journey this summer.
In his recent interaction with Italian radio station Radio Kiss Kiss, Santos opened up about his client, Jorgino and his wish to return to Italy. He said, ” “He wants to return to Italy and if Napoli will have the will to bring him back to the squad, we will be well disposed of.
“He costs 50 million euros and still has a two-year contract. I think [Roman] Abramovich will propose a renewal shortly anyway.
“Juve? [Fabio] Paratici knows football. He is not interested only in the Bianconeri, but also in Inter and Milan.”
The 29-year-old midfielder who joined Chelsea back in the summer of 2018 following the footsteps of Maurizio Sarri has admitted time and again that he would like to return to Italy and even preferably play for Napoli again. After Chelsea’s 2-0 win over FC Porto in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League tie, Jorginho was asked the same question by Sky Sport Italia on whether he would like to return to Napoli. To which he said, ” “I had a wonderful experience and I’m very fond of the city and the fans.
“Now, honestly, I’m not thinking about it because my concentration is all on Chelsea, but if there’s the possibility, one day, you don’t know when, to return, of course I would like to.”
The 29-year old midfielder who is born in Brazil but represents the Azzurri professionally has already featured in 128 matches for the Blues till now and in that time period, he has scored 16 goals. Most of which have come from penalties. He played a crucial role in Chelsea’s Europa League triumph in 2019 where they defeated city rivals, Arsenal 4-1 in the finals.
Jorginho has enjoyed a very vital role even in current boss Thomas Tuchel’s lineup. He will continue to do as the Blues have some crucial fixtures coming and also the Blues will need him as they are in the business end of both the Champions League and FA Cup.
