Josh Onomah ready to make Fulham impact

    August 16, 2019

Josh Onomah says he is happy his future is sorted and is looking forward to being part of what he hopes will be a Fulham promotion bid.

The 22-year-old arrived at Craven Cottage as part of the deal that saw Ryan Sessegnon join Tottenham on deadline day and he said he is focused on getting started and making an impact at his new club.

Onomah has been at Spurs since the age of eight, making his first team debut in 2015. He went on to make 32 appearances for the club but has spent the last two seasons on loan to Championship sides, Aston Villa in 2017-18 and Sheffield Wednesday last season.

He knows Scott Parker and first-team coach Matt Wells from their time at Spurs and says he is looking forward to getting started. He told the club’s official website: “All I’m feeling now is excitement about the new challenge here, and hopefully I can settle in quickly.

“Scott and Matt were a major influence on me. I had a few other options but them being here pushed me over the line. I worked with them at Tottenham, they know how to get the best out of me. I believe in them and am so happy to be working with them again.”

Fulham started life back in Championship with defeat away to Barnsley but got their first win of the new campaign last weekend, beating Blackburn 2-0 at Craven Cottage. They play Huddersfield away on Friday night, both sides having dropped out of the top flight last season.

Fulham are 2.50 to win on Friday night with the Terriers 2.80 and the draw 3.30. Fulham are 3.75 to get automatic promotion back to the Premier League with Leeds 2.25.
