After weeks of negotiations, Juventus have terminated their contract with Welshman Aaron Ramsey by mutual consent.
According to reports, the former Arsenal midfielder will be given severance pay of over €3m.
Juventus had signed the midfielder as a free agent after leaving Arsenal in 2019. Juve had offered him a huge contract at €7m per season that was due to expire in June 2023.
Max Allegri had shown that the Wales international was not part of his plans. This made Juve prefer to terminate the deal early rather than try to find a buyer.
This is following negotiations that have dragged on for weeks.
Now that they have reached an agreement, it means that they finally managed to work out the details today.
According to reports, Bianconerri had offered €2m severance pay, but Ramsey was demanding €4m. They finally met in the middle at just over €3m.
Juve had loaned out Ramsey to Glasgow Rangers in January 2022, but it was not a successful journey.
He played 69 games for Juventus, scoring goals and contributing six assists.
The major issues of the 31-year-old were numerous injury problems, especially last season, where he played just five games for the Old Lady.
It was reported that Ramsey is eyeing a return to the Premier League.
Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo could return to Serie A on loan from Manchester United.
The player had shown an attitude that showed that he wanted to leave Old Trafford.
As things stand, he is open to a move to Juventus, Napoli, Inter, or Milan.
His agent had asked Manchester United to extend his contract and let him leave on loan to play the Champions League.
The 37-year-old flew back to Manchester today and visited the Old Trafford training ground along with agent Jorge Mendes.
It’s hoped that the future of the Portuguese star will be resolved soon ahead of the new season.
