Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane hit 201 goals in 350 club appearances as Jose Mourinho’s side beat Newcastle United 3-1 on Wednesday.
The win, which is Jose Mourinho’s first win in 8 English Premier League matches at the St James Park, took Spurs to 7th position on the log.
Son Heung-Min’s 27th-minute strike gave Spurs the lead into half time, and Matt Ritchie leveled the scores on the 56th minutes of the game before Kane scored the first of his brace four minutes later.
His second goal came on the dot of 90 minutes, making it his 184th goal for Spurs while the other 16 goals were for loan clubs Millwall, Leyton Orient, and Leicester.
With just two matches left to play, Spurs are 7th with 55points while Newcastle are 13th on the log.
Manchester City beat Bournemouth 2-1 at the Etihad with David Silva and Gabriel Jesus scoring in the first half before David Brooks scored the consolation goal before the final whistle.
Burnley hosted Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Turf Moor and played out a 1-1 draw at the end of 90 minutes with a late penalty from Chris Wood canceling out Raul Jimenez’s 76th-minute goal.
In the game between champions Liverpool and Arsenal, two first-half mistakes from Liverpool defender, Virgil Van Dijk, and Goalkeeper Allison Becker, gave Arsenal a first-half win despite Sadio Mane’s early strike for Liverpool.
Alexander Lacazette benefited first from Van Dijk’s error in the 32nd minute before Reiss Nelson scored in the 44th minute to overturn the score just before halftime.
Liverpool’s loss means that Manchester City’s 100 point record in the Premier League is still intact for another season.
City set the remarkable record on the final day of the 2017/18 season, when they became the first team to hit 100 points in a Premier League campaign. Man City came close to equalling the record last year, as they set 98 points to retain the title.
Once football restarted, Liverpool looked on course to break the record as they won the league last month after City’s defeat at Chelsea confirmed the title would be heading to Anfield. With two games left in the Premier League, Liverpool are 93 points and will finish with only 99 points even if they win they next games.
