Cadiz will be welcoming Barcelona at Nuevo Estadio Ramon de Carranza this weekend after securing another away draw at Elche.
Cadiz is enjoying their time in the top flight after garnering 15 points from 11 games.
They have surprised most people, especially after securing a 1-0 win over Real Madrid away from home. But they weren’t’ that lucky against Atletico Madrid, who dispatched four goals past them at the Wanda Metropolitano three weeks ago. This followed a 1-0 defeat against Real Sociedad at the Anoeta.
They will be heading into the game with a point above their visitors after winning four games, drew three, and lost four.
It would therefore be an interesting clash for the hosts. They could make another statement of intent by containing the side expected to be led by Lionel Messi, who was rested against Ferencvaros during the midweek Champions League game.
However, this could work in the park for Barcelona because resting Messi last time against Dynamo Kiev seemed to have the world as the Argentine mesmerized against Osasuna, scoring to honour late Diego Maradona in the game.
Since their defeat at Atletico Madrid a fortnight ago, Barca has gone ahead to win three games, scoring 11 and not conceding.
Already aware of their capability, Cadiz isn’t as adventurous as Dynamo Kiev, Ferencvaros, and Osasuna. So, they are expected to pack the defense and expect to counter the break, with Alvaro Negredo leading the line.
Their playstyle has been anti-attack, which has been upsetting to others, but it works for them.
They will be welcoming Barca and be hoping to secure their first win of the season. But that is unlikely to change with the current form of the Catalans.
With now back to form Messi and Antoine Griezmann leading the line, Barcelona is the favourite to win this one. But Cadiz could spring up another surprise as done against Madrid. Don’t forget Dafabet’s Cadiz C.F. Prediction Challenge in order to win free weekly bets!
