Liverpool’s start to the Premier League season has been a major disappointment. After their success last season, fans expected big things from Jurgen Klopp’s team this year, but instead, they have found themselves languishing in sixth place in the table.
The Reds have only picked up 22 points from 14 games. They have also conceded 17 goals. To make matters worse, Liverpool has several key players injured, like Diogo Jota.
These dismal results have caused frustration amongst the Liverpool faithful, and questions are being asked about whether or not Klopp can turn things around in the second half of the season if he is to keep his job at Anfield beyond this campaign.
The January transfer market may be the opportunity for Liverpool to get some players to boost their performance.
When asked if they would go out to sign new players, Kloop responded. “I’m not against investment but we will see what the future brings, nobody knows at the moment. I’m still convinced the future will be good.
“We have to solve the present and that’s what we are working on.
“January in our situation is a window from a sports side. We are always prepared; it’s always clear what kind of ideas we have or how the necessity is from our point of view.
“All the rest doesn’t lie 100 percent in our hands, and we always work with what we’ve got, and that will not change.”
Jude Bellingham has been linked with the Reds for months, but a January move is unlikely. In addition, the player is followed by Real Madrid and Manchester City.
Bellingham had an excellent World Cup, so the player’s price will likely rise and other powerful clubs will join in trying to sign him.
