Manchester City wins record fourth consecutive title.

Manchester City recorded their fourth consecutive title in the Premier League. It denied Arsenal their first title in twenty years with a 3-1 win over West Ham United at Etihad Stadium on Sunday.

With Arsenal needing a West Ham United favor by beating Manchester City, Pep Guardiola’s side didn’t leave any doubt as the Premier League Player of the Year, Phil Foden, unleashed a screamer barely two minutes in to put Manchester City in control.

Foden doubled the lead in the 18th minute, and Mohammed Kudus reduced the deficit before the halftime break. However, it was never in doubt for Manchester City, who cemented their title through Rodri on the hour mark.

Arsenal did their part despite falling behind to a Gana Gueye free kick in the 40th minute as Takehiro Tomiyasu equalized only two minutes before the break.

Kai Havertz ended the season on a high with a late goal to earn Arsenal the win the game for Arsenal although it was never enough.

Meanwhile, the title is Manchester City’s sixth in the last seven seasons, and Phil Foden has won six Premier League titles at just 23 years old.

“It is so hard to put into words what we’ve done today. No team has ever done it [won four in a row]; we have put ourselves into the history books. You see what it means to the fans and to us players working all year for this moment. A special moment to share it with the fans. I think to win the Premier League four times, no team has ever done it before, so to do it means we are up there [with the best teams of all time]. I am just absolutely shattered, to be honest.” Foden said.

Elsewhere, Liverpool sent Jurgen Klopp off with a 2-0 win over ten-man Wolves, while Aston Villa lost at Crystal Palace 5-0. Chelsea won 2-1 over Bournemouth to secure a European spot, but both Manchester United and Tottenham will have to wait for their European status despite their respective wins at Brighton and Sheffield United.

Luton Town, Burnley, and Sheffield United all return to the championship to be replaced by promoted Leicester, Ipswich, and either Leeds/Southampton, who are in the championship playoff finals.
