The French centre-back returns Raphael Varane to Real Madrid training session as his representatives continue to smoothen his move to Manchester United. The Real Madrid defender, who has earned a lot of reputation, is himself willing to move to Old Trafford.
Manchester United are yet to agree a fee with La Casa Blanca, but there is an increased positive that a deal would be inked soon. Varane would certainly add more depth to the squad as the Red Devils certainly want to compete with defending Premier League Manchester City for the Premier League title next season.
Varane has established himself as one of the world’s top defenders. The 28 year old French defender willingly wants to move to Old Trafford. Although these talks are still ongoing and no official price has been made known to the public, it is quite certain that there is agreement on many of the details of his proposed contract.
Raphael Varane, who joined Los Blancos from his country club Lens in the summer of 2011, has increased his stature as the french national and has been clinical in the success as well as dominance of Real Madrid in the European football.
He has gone on to make over 350 appearances for the club, and alongside Brazilian defender Marcelo Vieira and Spanish national Sergio Ramos (who recently joined PSG), has been brilliant in keeping opponents at bay. Varane has appeared 79 times for his national team France, helping them to World Cup glory in 2018.
He was part of the french team who started all four of their matches at Euro 2020 with the defender before they were knocked out by Switzerland.
Premier League runner ups Manchester United will start their Premier League campaign on August 14 against Leeds United at Old Trafford.
