Marc Edworthy, a former right-back for the Canaries, has advised young defender Max Aarons to continue his progress and development with the Norwich City side instead of a move to another club.
Max Aarons, 20, has been one of the shining lights for the Canaries in a largely disappointing 2019-20 English Premier League season.
With his impressive performances since Daniel Farke’s men gained promotion, several top clubs in the Premier League and abroad have all queued up for his signature with big-money deals dangled over the player.
Borussia Dortmund in the German Bundesliga and London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur has been linked to the player who graduated from Norwich City’s academy and has managed a total of 27 appearances and two assists in the English Premier League this season.
According to Edworthy, who featured for Norwich City in the 2003 and 2004 season, Max Aarons is a player that Daniel Farke’s side would want to keep looking at his performances this season.
He stated that the Carrow Road is a decent place to stay and continue to play as there is little pressure on results.
However, he admitted that the possibility of relegation for the Canaries could make it difficult to keep the player as the big teams would want to secure the signing of young and top quality players from such relegated teams which Aarons falls into the calibre.
He starred with City in the 2003/04 title-winning season after joining the club on a free transfer. The 47-year-old has praised the Canaries for their ability to produce young talent.
Max Aarons is one of the four academy graduates playing in the first team under the tutoring of Daniel Farke, and Edworthy admires the ability of the club to always bring forth good young players from the academy but hopes the club can do much to retain the services of such youngsters who come through the academy into the first team.
