Reports from Spain say Kylian Mbappé will sign a contract with Real Madrid in the summer.
Marca says the 25-year-old will reportedly join Real Madrid and sign a five-year deal.
According to reports, Mbappé’s wage will reflect his status as one of the best players in the world, and he will become Madrid’s highest earner, surpassing even Luka Modrić, Toni Kroos, and David Alaba.
The 25-year-old will reportedly earn between 15 and 20 million euros annually, which can be supplemented with additional bonuses.
However, there will be a considerable pay cut compared to what he would have earned if he had joined the club in 2022. The 2018 World Cup winner would have attained 26 million euros per year, even more so than if he had decided to stay at Paris Saint-Germain, where his wage was thought to be 32 million euros.
Mbappé is expected to sign this contract soon, possibly explaining why he has decided to leave PSG.
Having admitted that joining the Galacticos would be a dream, he believed that his best chance at winning the Champions League and the Ballon d’Or would be at a club whose raison d’etre has been an enduring pursuit of success.
The superstar has been professional about his job at the club since he made his intention known at the beginning of the season that he won’t be extending his stay beyond next summer.
He is the team’s highest goal scorer with 21 goals in 20 Ligue 1 games and 30 in overall competition this season.
PSG is at the top of the Ligue 1 log with 53 points, with 13 points separating them from Brest.
They recently put themselves in a good position in the Champions League with a 2-0 win against Real Sociedad in the first leg of the knockout round.
Mbappe proved to be instrumental again after scoring the opener.
