Victor Osimhen has arrived at the Super Eagles camp amid speculations of his involvement in the doubleheader 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Guinea-Bissau.
There were doubts surrounding the availability of the Napoli star, with many uncertain if the striker would honor the invitation according to reports that said he was injured.
The Napoli striker was, on Sunday, involved for Napoli in a 4-0 win away at Torino and is expected to arrive in Nigeria from Italy on Monday.
Osimhen touched down in Lagos on Tuesday, where he had commercial obligations before traveling to Abuja at the Super Eagles camp.
The 24-year-old will have a chance to help Nigeria secure qualification with positive results against Guinea-Bissau in a doubleheader after already beating Sierra Leone and Sao Tome.
Nigeria will face Guinea-Bissau on Friday in Abuja before traveling for the second leg in Morocco next week.
The Super Eagles top group after two wins from two games, including a 10-0 victory over Sao Tome and Principe in their last qualification fixture.
Should the Super Eagles get victories in their doubleheader against Guinea-Bissau in the March international window, they would secure qualification for the Africa Cup of Nations scheduled for Ivory Coast next January.
