Newcastle is still struggling to get out of the relegation zone; however, they have not been able to find a plan that works.
When new boss Eddie Howe took over the club, he said there would be no further signings in January and would try to work with the resources the club already had.
But the poor results have pushed the club to seek new blood in order to survive and remain in the Premier League.
Although the club does not have a sports director, Steve Nickson, head of recruitment, has already drawn up a plan to sign some players in the winter market.
The list of players that Nickson introduced to boss Howe is as follows:
Mohamed Elneny
It is unclear if Elneny counts in Arteta’s plans at Arsenal. The player has spent quite a bit of time on the bench, with some sporadic appearances.
The player ends his contract with the Gunners at the end of the season, but reports show that the club would be interested in terminating the contract sooner.
Lloyd Kelly
Boss Howe knows Kelly well since he was the one who took him to Bournemouth in 2019, where the player has shown a spectacular performance. In fact it seems that Liverpool would also be interested in the current captain of the Cherries.
Joe Rodon
Rodon has struggled to earn a spot in the Spurs’ rotation. Antonio Conte seems not to consider the player in his plans and prefers to sell him to generate more transfer funds.
Sven Botman
Botman is a player who is followed by various clubs in Europe. The Magpies are unlikely to be able to convince him as it is speculated that the Dutchman has had contacts with Liverpool and other big clubs.
Matthias Ginter
Ginter ends contract with Borussia Monchengladbach at the end of the season, so the club would be more than willing to sell the player in January.
