Indications have shown that PSG might be without the service of Neymar for their Ligue 1 clash against Nate on Saturday.
French media reported that the Brazilian striker who had sustained an abductor injury during the international break was only able to play in Brazil’s 1-0 win over Colombia and later missed out against Argentina – a match which ended in a goalless draw.
After being injured, the striker went back to Paris to speed up his recovery. He did some tests on Wednesday to find out more about his injury. Thus, fans will be waiting for Mauricio Pochentinno to release team news on Friday.
Meanwhile, with silence from the Paris club about Neymar’s injury status, the latest rumours suggest that the team have decided to leave out the Brazilian against Nante and prepare him for the Champions League match against Manchester City, in England, Wednesday.
This is seen as more crucial than the domestic action as the Paris club aims to finish top in the group ahead of the English champion.
In a related development, since, Lionel Messi played for Argentina, it is believed that the mercurial forward is match fit to play against Nantes.
In another development, Sergio Ramos could make his first appearance for the club on Saturday.
This is following an improvement in his fitness after returning to training last week.
French media report that he could be included in the matchday squad after appearing to have overcome a calf problem since the start of the season.
The former Real Madrid captain has had calf injury and knee cartilage issues.
There is another good news for the Ligue 1 giant after Presnel Kimpembe and Marco Verratti returned to training after thigh and hip injuries respectively.
This doesn’t guarantee that they will be available for the Saturday game as they remain a doubt till they are given the go-ahead by the medical team. They are both expected to be match fit again to face the Premier League side.
Ander Herrera also returned to full training yesterday.
So, Neymar has joined Rafinha and Draxler in the treatment room. The German playmaker is battling a thigh injury.
