Norwich City youngster Josh Martin has revealed that the recent break in football due to the coronavirus pandemic has not stopped his goal of making his debut in the Canaries main team.
He revealed that it was quite a nervous. The teenager disclosed that his ambitions remains to make a debut for Daniel Farke’s team and that the break will not be a barrier to it.
He, however, revealed that the break would only give him more time and chance to put in more hard work and prepare for the time when the chance comes up.
“If anything, it gives me the chance to work harder than my team-mates and come back into the season ahead of them. I’m spending a lot of time working on my body and improving my technical ability as much as I can for when we return.” Josh Martin said.
The player only got to train with the first team two months ago, and he disclosed his excitement when he was first informed that fateful morning.
He further stated he was initially nervous when getting into the first-team environment, but after a few sessions and warm-ups, he got comfortable with his senior colleagues.
Josh Martin started out with Norwich’s U18 team while he only graduated to the U23s last September and joined the first team four months later for a FA Cup tie at Burnley which the Canaries won 1-0.
However, he failed to come off the bench in the third-round tie, but he believes that the changing point in his career came to his very first match for the U23s against Oxford stating that he got the recognition for his works from that point.
The 18-year old further revealed his confidence level is at a high point after playing with players who have played at a higher age grade.
