Norwich City has completed the signing of German midfielder Lukas Rupp from German Bundesliga side Hoffenheim for an undisclosed fee.
The Canaries secured the signing of the 29-year old in a deal that will see the midfielder be at Carrow road for the next two years.
Norwich City are rooted to the bottom of the league with just 14 points, seven away from safety having played the last 5 games without a win, conceding 11 goals and scoring just once.
However, the midfielder is unfazed by Daniel Farke team’s standing on the log but rather is happy to explore a new chapter in his football career.
He stated that while he has played in the Bundesliga for ten years, it was always a childhood dream for him to play in the English Premier League.
Norwich City manager Daniel Farke stated that the addition of Rupp is a valuable one as the player has a good character, which is enough to move the team forward.
He further noted that the experience he has gathered playing in the German top-flight would be crucial to helping the Canaries stay afloat in the English Premier League.
Rupp has played majorly in Germany all his career, having started out with Karlsruher before going on to feature for Borussia Monchengladbach, Paderborn, Stuttgart, and Hoffenheim.
Norwich will next face fellow relegation candidate Bournemouth at home on the 18th of January while they face a trip to the White Hart Lane after that to face José Mourinho’s Tottenham Hotspurs.
The Canaries has not won in the English Premier League since November 11, 2019, when the team beat Everton at Goodison Park in a 2-0 victory. Since then, they have played nine games without a win, losing five and drawing 4.
