Paris-Saint Germain will add a new midfielder to replace Leandro Paredes, who will reportedly leave.
PSG has stopped making fancy free agent signings to focus on filling their needs with up and coming players. Some of these names include Vitinha, Hugo Ekitike and Nordi Mukiele, who are coming over to help them fix some of the deficiencies they displayed last year. Now the reigning Ligue 1 champions are focused on improving their midfield.
Since the start of the transfer period, Luis Campos has been trying to lure a talented Portuguese midfielder and finally, after fighting with AC Milan for him, PSG has agreed to initial terms with Renato Sanches.
The 24-year-old wanted to arrive to Paris to work under his former Lille manager Christophe Galtier once again. As for PSG, they want to keep adding midfield options as this position had many deficiencies under Mauricio Pochettino.
According to O Jogo, Renato Sanches would be announced as a new member of the team in the coming days. Sanches will arrive on a one-year loan with a signing fee of 10 million euros. This facilitated his decision to come over.
Sanches may be different but his arrival helps ease the potential absence of Leandro Paredes, who is pursued by Juventus. The Argentinian midfielder hasn’t played much under Galtier during the team’s friendlies and PSG would like to make the most of a potential sale. Sanches, on the other hand, has qualities that fit with what the new manager wants for the teamsa and their familiarity with each other can do wonders for both parties.
It will be interesting to see what happens to Paredes, Juventus is in a rebuilding phase and with his talent he should be able to help them out and earn more playing team than if he stays in Paris.
