Paris Saint-Germain players, Sergio Ramos and Keylor Navas will return to face their old club, Real Madrid, in the last 16 of the 2021/22 UEFA Champions League.
Ramos left Les Blancos as a free agent, having achieved legendary status at the club.
Speaking at a press conference, the former Real Madrid captain says he doesn’t want Kylian Mbappe, who has been linked to Madrid, to move there.
According to him, he likes being surrounded by the best players, adding that the Frenchman is a key player for PSG now and in the future.
He is therefore hoping that Mbappe, who dreams of playing for Les Merengues, be with PSG for many years to come.
While noting that the 22-year-old is a young player with a lot of future, he said there is a lot he can offer the team.
The 2018 World Cup winner was the match-winner for the Paris club in their last Ligue 1 clash with Monaco. Mbappe bagged a brace in the match to maintain their lead at the summit of the log.
Mbappé has now scored a century of goals for PSG in Ligue 1 Uber Eats. He has now become the youngest player ever to score a century of top-flight goals for a single club at the age of 22 years, 11 months, and 23 days.
Apart from PSG being handed a tricky tie against Madrid, fellow Ligue 1 side, LOSC Lille will battle defending champions Chelsea.
The European football governing body held the draw on Monday at their headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland. The draw throws up some intriguing ties for Ligue 1 Uber Eats clubs.
This meeting will be a repeat of the 2018 round of 16 tie in which the 13-time winners advance 5-2 on aggregate.
However, PSG had recently gotten the better of the La Liga leaders in the group stage of 2019. The Paris club won 3-0 at the Parc des Princes and drew 2-2 in the Santiago Bernabeu.
It will be a huge return to the Bernabeau for Ramos, who will be hoping he can find his fitness.
Keylor Navas will also be facing his former club, having left for PSG in 2019. The Costa Rican goalkeeper was sold to give way for Thibaut Courtois to become the main goalkeeper at Real Madrid.
