Rashford, Greenwood Secure Win For Man United against Brighton

    April 5, 2021

Manchester United survived a scare against Brighton in the English Premier League game on Sunday at Old Trafford after coming from a goal down to win 2-1.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men went behind to a Danny Welbeck strike in the first half before Marcus Rashford equalized in the 62nd minute before Mason Greenwood got the winner with seven minutes left on the clock.

The win took Manchester United four Points away from Leicester City who sits in third but they are still second and 14 points behind rivals Manchester City who sits at the top of the log but have played a game more.

Manchester United will face Granada next in the UEFA Europa League quarter-final clash on Thursday before facing Tottenham in the Premier League next weekend.

Meanwhile, Tottenham Hotspur lost a goal advantage to draw 2-2 against Newcastle at the St James’ Park.

The Toons had taken the lead through Joelinton in the 28th minute before Harry Kane scored the first of his brace just two minutes later.

The Three Lions striker added another goal four minutes later to give Tottenham Hotspur the lead, and they were looking like they would take all three points until Arsenal loanee, Joe Willock equalised and secured a point for the home side.

In other matches, Southampton defeated Burnley 3-2 in a pulsating game at the Saint Mary’s.

Aston Villa also came from behind to defeat Fulham 3-1 on Sunday. On Saturday Arsenal lost 3-0 to Liverpool while Chelsea were thrashed 5-2 by West Brom in the Blues’ first loss under Thomas Tuchel.

Manchester City also put a stronghold on their title chase with a 2-0 victory over Leicester City on Saturday.

Leeds United compounded the woes of strugglers Sheffield United who they defeated by two goals to one.
