It is clear that Manchester United dont want Cristiano Ronaldo anymore after his sensational interview with Piers Morgan where he criticized several people from the club including the owners and the current manager Erik ten Hag. While most people are already speculating that United will let go of Ronaldo, Sky Sports journalist Kaveh Solhekol feels there is a strong chance of that happening very soon as the club is looking to take action against the Portuguese superstar.
He specifically shared that the club had betrayed him and also lashed out at the bosses managing the club. He also shared how the club has progressed since his departure back in 2009 and since Alex Ferguson left they have not gone ahead. He then took digs at former teammates Wayne Rooney, Gary Neville and did not have nice things to say to his current manager Erik ten Hag.
Speaking on the matter, Solhekol stated that the Red Devils are not sitting idle on the interview given by the Portuguese forward and signs are there will be solid repercussions from the management.
“When he was told that he was not starting against Villa in the Carabao Cup clash on November 10, he went to see United’s medical department to tell them he was not well. Manchester United have not seen him since. I would not rule anything out at the moment, United will be having talks at the club today (Monday) with senior officials working out what their next move should be,” Solhekol wrote in his Sky Sports column.
He shared how some people feel that there is still a place for Ronaldo to be in the club. However some of them understand that too much has been said and done and the club now will take some serious action against him as they have had enough. “Some people are suggesting there are grounds for Cristiano Ronaldo to be… I would not say sacked, but it feels that this is so serious to be saying the kind of things he said and also on the back of the disciplinary issues he has had with the club this season and there is a feeling that enough is enough.”
Ronaldo in his interview shared how he is not going to be silent anymore and will speak up whenever required, the similar feeling is shared by the club and management aswell as they have had enough of him. “He said in the interview that he has had enough and he is not going to be silent anymore and I think that feeling is shared by United as well, they have had enough of Ronaldo.”
However for now Ronaldo’s mind will be on the upcoming FIFA World Cup in Qatar where he will be looking to guide his team to glory. Portugal are a very strong unit with plenty of youngsters doing well all across Europe and they also have some experienced players to lead them from the start of the first game. It will be interesting to see if the current fiasco at club level fuels the Portuguese talisman more to deliver for his nation or not.
