It may seem as though the FIFA World Cup might have captured the attention of every football fan over the weekend after Lionel Messi was bestowed with the most prized trophy in world football.
However, prior to that thrilling end to the competition in Qatar, the Celtic fateful had gotten a taste of their beautiful moments as the Hoops resumed SPFL action and kicked off with a 1-0 victory over Aberdeen.
With just four weeks’ interval between the Saturday game and the last game against Ross County, Postecoglou took the remainder of the squad who weren’t representing their side at the World Cup to relax and unwind in preparation for the remainder of the season.
This break was vital for Carl Starfelt as he also made the best use of that duration to recover properly from the injury he sustained earlier this season, marking his third league start in the win over Aberdeen.
Facing the club media in an exclusive interview, the defender disclosed that the objective is to return better and stronger than in the first half of the season.
He further added that the team doesn’t want to remain stagnant, hence the reason for more improvement in every aspect.
Starfelt also took time to reflect on his injury problems as he aims to get fitter and help his side.
“It’s been a tough time for me when I got Injured, as I’ve been unable to play my part in the team. Hopefully, I’m getting better and healthier to participate more in every game henceforth.” He said.
Celtic return to action on Wednesday as they welcome Livingston to the Celtic Park as they look to add another three points to their current tally on the SPFL log.
