Thomas Tuchel devastated as he opens up for the first time after getting sacked as Chelsea manager

    September 12, 2022

Chelsea sacked Thomas Tuchel right after the Blues lost to Dinamo Zagreb in the UEFA Champions League. The Blues management have even appointed Brighton and Hove Albion manager Graham Potter as their new manager to succeed the German tactician who actually enjoyed a very bright spell at Stamford Bridge.

Tuchel really took Chelsea from being one of the better teams in England to European greatness as he guided them to their second Champions League title. They won the title beating Manchester City and it was surely a high in the German’s resume as well. Tuchel genuinely loved and cared for the club but the management had other ideas on the market and also on the pitch. The below par start to the season made things slightly easy for the management to move ahead with their task, but Potter is the future for them and in more than many ways they may be right about it.

However, Tuchel poured his heart out on a note which he tweeted where he shared how Chelsea sacking made him devastated as he considered the Bridge as his home for the last couple of years. Here’s what he tweeted, “This is one of the most difficult statements I have ever had to write – and it is one which I hoped I would not need to do for many years. I am devastated that my time at Chelsea has come to an end. This is a club where I felt at home, both professionally and personally. Thank you so much to all the staff, the players and the supporters for making me feel very welcome from the start.”

The 49-year-old German manager then penned down the success and the accolades that he has achieved during his time at Chelsea which included several trophies for him which was his first time aswell. “The pride and joy I felt at helping the team to win the Champions League and the Club World Cup will stay with me forever. I am honoured to have been a part of this club’s history and the memories of the last 19 months will always have a special place in my heart,” he added.

Tuchel was in charge of 99 Chelsea games since joining the club in January 2021 and has won 68 games, drew 18 and lost 19, it could have ended on a better note. However this season’s start was not satisfactory and therefore the rumours had already started of his departure and all.

Now with Potter in his place, the Blues will look to soar higher as his first match will be against RB Salzburg in the Champions League. Having lost the first game, this one will be a challenge for the former Brighton manager and also the players.
