Tottenham seems to have internal conflicts; after being eliminated from the Champions League by Mila, there has been a clash between boss Antonio Conte and Brazilian player Richarlison.
Richarlison harshly criticized the Italian coach after the Champions League game for not having put him on the field. “There’s not much to talk about. I think I should have played, and now I don’t have to cry. This season has been shit,” said the Brazilian.
Two days later, in the press room prior to the Premier match, Conte wanted to answer him without holding back, “I saw Richarlison’s interview, and he didn’t criticize me. He said, ‘my season sucks,’ and he’s right because his season isn’t good because he had a lot of injuries. If you ask me about the rest of the interview, I think (Richarlison) understood very well that he was wrong because when you talk to ‘me, me and me’, not us. It means that you are thinking only of yourself, and you’re selfish.”
During the interview, Conte also mentioned his commitment to the Spurs and that he is not thinking of going anywhere else.
“We need time and patience. I understand that patience has run out for the fans, so we’ll see what happens in the future.
“I’m not stupid enough to kill myself. If you ask me now if I’m willing to die for this club: yes. Until the end, I’m going to die for this club.”
“When I came I signed a strange contract of only a year and a half. Normally you sign for three years, but I think we did it to see how the situation was going,” explained Conte, whose contract with Tottenham ends this summer, and his renewal seems ruled out by the club after elimination in the FA Cup and the Champions League.
