Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes has revealed the new playing style of the club under new head coach Erik Ten Hag. The Red Devils have made a prolific start to their season as they have been aggressive in their approach.
Manchester United defeated Liverpool by 4-0 in Thailand. Subsequently, the club bested Australian club Melbourne Victory by 4-1. Erik Ten Hag’s team continued its winning momentum against Crystal Palace as they beat by 3-1 on Tuesday.
Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford, and Jadon Sancho found themselves on the scoring sheet against the Eagles. On the other hand, Joel Ward scored the only goal for Patrick Vieira’s side.
Thus, the Red Devils have scored a total of 11 goals in the preseason, which goes to show their attacking display of football.
After the game, the Portuguese midfielder lauded the team’s strikers whereas he also feels that they are playing with more confidence but he admitted that there is still work to be done by the team.
Fernandes told MUTV, as quoted by the Manchester Evening News: “We’ve been most aggressive now. The three guys up front have been aggressive when they pressed, it’s been strong, it’s made the last line squeeze, the midfielders too and when we turn over the ball we’re closer to the goal.”
He added: “We have freedom, there’s lots of spaces in the middle and we’re better on the ball too. We feel good, the results help on that, playing good football a lot of things to improve yet but we’ll have time to do that and be ready for the first game of the season.”
Meanwhile, there is no doubt that Manchester United will have a lot of work to do before the regular season begins. The Red Devils had a horrible run in the previous season and the players will be determined to turn the tables in the upcoming season.
Manchester United will next face Aston Villa on Saturday.
