Manchester City head coach Pep Guardiola was disappointed after his team dropped points against Nottingham Forest. The Saturday game ended in a 1-1 draw as Sky Blues had to settle for a point against a 13-placed ranked team.
City took six shots on target whereas the opposition could only manage a solitary shot, from which they scored. The Spaniard reckons they should have scored two, or three goals in the first half but they just couldn’t take their chances.
Erling Haaland had a rare off day at work as he squandered a couple of chances. Bernardo Silva scored in the 41st minute but Chris Wood found the equalizer for the home team at the fag end of the game.
On the other hand, Arsenal was able to strengthen their lead at the top as they won against Aston Villa by 4-2 at Villa Park on Saturday.
“Congratulations to Nottingham Forest for the point they got. It was a brilliant performance, we played really well but at that level, you have to score and we didn’t do it and that’s why we dropped points,” Pep Guardiola said.
“The action for the goal we could defend better, with more energy, but the way we played was brilliant. In the first half, it should be already 2 or 3-0, we concede one shot on target and we drop points.
“It’s sad, disappointing, but the way we played was really really good. If we missed the chances that we missed it’s because today was not the day to win the game.
Manchester City would have been disappointed after sharing the spoils against Nottm Forest despite putting up a dominating display but they could not close the door on the opposition. City will next face RB Leipzig in the Round of 16 in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday.
