Wolves dreaming big after victory over Tottenham

    February 14, 2022

Wolves are looking forward to a more productive end to the season after beating Tottenham to move within three points of the top four on Sunday.

Wolves inflicted Tottenham’s second successive Premier League defeat on Sunday with a 2-0 victory at the White Hart Lane.

Spurs had a string of calamitous defending within twelve first-half minutes, which Wolves capitalized on. Raul Jimenez scored in the sixth minute before Leander Dendoncker doubled the scorelines in the 18th minute.

The result puts Wolves above spurs on the table with 37 points in the seventh position from twenty-three games while they are just four points behind fourth-placed West Ham United.

They host Leicester City at Molineux next, and the Mexican forward has revealed what the target of the whole squad is like.

“We are always confident, we know what we can do. We are in a good period and we can keep improving and go higher in the table. We are dreaming big.” Jimenez said.

Meanwhile, in other matches on Sunday Kieran Trippier scored another free-kick as Newcastle’s best Aston Villa 1-0 to move four points clear of the drop zone.

Liverpool had Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah back in the starting lineup for the first time since the AFCON when they played Burnley at the Turf Moor, but it was Fabinho who got the winning goal against a stubborn Clarets team.

West Ham held Leicester City to an entertaining 2-2 draw at the King’s power stadium.

Jarrod Bowen scored a tenth-minute goal to give the hammers the lead, but Youri Tielemans equalized before halftime with a penalty before the foxes got the lead through Ricardo Pereira early in the second half.

However, the foxes were denied a win with a late goal from Craig Dawson. Manchester United on Saturday was held to a 1-1 draw by Southampton while Manchester City beat Norwich 4-0 courtesy of a Raheem Sterling hattrick.
