On Tuesday, it was yet another day at Morningside Arena Leicester as fans witnessed a scintillating round of snooker games at the 2022 snooker Cahmpi0ns League.
Bingham was made to work hard before he eventually became victorious to climb the top of Group 11.
The day’s business kicked off as things took a patchy ride with the former 2015 world champi0nship winner losing 3-0 to Peter Devlin.
However, Devlin, ranked 92 in the world, came crashing down when he twice drew with Cao Yupeng and Peter Lines falling short a point of leading the group standings.
Bingham then recorded a 3-0 victory over Peter Lines after making a 50-plus break. He continued his fine performance as he also delivered another top-notch performance to defeat Cao [Yupeng] 3-1.
A wonderful strike of the ball by Yupeng ran across the board, missing a standard Green to hand him a win in the frame. Unfortunately, that wasn’t enough as Bingham saw off the game with a score of 56 to get maximum points.
After the game, with qualifications already confirmed, Bingham revealed that the game was an opportunity for him to learn. He hopes to correct his errors in the future into the next round.
“It was a disappointing start for me in the first game, and I felt unhappy after my loss to Dev in the opening game, but kudos to him; he really stood up and took the game to me.”
“I sat down and told myself to be calm, and I’m glad it worked as it allowed me to diligently strike some balls, which gave me victories over Cao and Peter.” He added.
Bingham will now join the likes of Ben [ Woollaston ] and Jamie [Jones] in the Category C stage of the round of 32 scheduled for July 26th.
