Jannik Sinner overwhelmed by his experience of training with Rafael Nadal

    April 8, 2021

Italian tennis star Jannick Sinner has impressed everyone with his dynamic playing style at the Miami Open where he ended up being the runners up after losing to Poland’s Hubert Hurkacz in the finals.

Sinner showed potential and courage and a lot of critics and fans have the same thought that he can be a big name in the coming years. His runners up finish made him the only second teenager to end up being runners up after Spanish tennis legend, Rafael Nadal who also happens to be his idol.

In a recent interview Sinner shared his experiences from the time when he trained with Nadal. The World No. 23 highlighted it as one of the best experiences in his career. “With Rafa, it was maybe one of the best experiences,” the 19-year-old stated. “Practicing with the guy who won 20 Grand Slams before a Grand Slam, it’s a huge honor for me knowing him better and knowing his team better.”

Both the Italian and Nadal were training together ahead of the Australian Open 2021 and it was a very enriching experience for the youngster who got close up with his idol and it helped him in his game.

The Italian revealed that Nadal was very humble and in a short video Sinner thanked the Spaniard and his team for allowing him to train with the legend for two weeks. Overall we can say that the experience has helped Sinner a lot as there has been a visible growth in him as a player.

“He is very humble, a very great person to everyone. So yeah, for me, it was very great and I would just like to say thanks to him and his team that they chose me to practice with them for two weeks,” added the Miami Open runners up.

It has to be once in a lifetime opportunity for a young tennis player to train with the Spanish legend that too for two weeks. The experience has changed Sinner as a player and that has shown in his results. The Italian will be keen to keep up the good work and also improve on his overall development as a player with the clay-court season coming up.
