Wimbledon sensation Christopher Eubanks has tipped Novak Djokovic as the Greatest of All Time. Eubanks feels the Serbian has a all-round game on all surfaces and that’s why he believes Djokovic is ahead of Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal in the GOAT debate.
Djokovic has won the Australian Open on 10 occasions, Wimbledon on seven, whereas he has won the French Open and US Open, three times each. The veteran is currently the most successful Male tennis player in terms of Grand Slams wins with 23 crowns under his belt, followed by absent Rafael Nadal (22 Majors), who is out of action due to a hip injury.
Meanwhile, Roger Federer retired back in 2022 September after taking part in the Laver Cup. Federer, who was well known for his panache on the court, won a total of 20 Slams in his glorious career.
On the other hand, America’s Chris Eubanks hogged the limelight at the recent Wimbledon as he made it to the quarterfinal but his incredible run was ended by Daniil Medvedev.
“Yeah, I think so. Personally. In just my opinion. The thing is GOAT conversations are so subjective,” said Eubanks on Prime Video Sports Talk. “It all depends on what you like. Federer changed the way tennis players were viewed globally. He was a global icon. In terms of just being a tennis player and titles, records, weeks at being number one. He [Djokovic] has the numbers.”
Eubanks continued, “Some might say Federer meant more to the sport and I’m not really going argue with you on that, if that’s what your tennis GOAT means. Mine is just the best all around tennis player. You can take a tennis player, drop them on any surface against any opponent on any day in any year, and you are probably going to be like, ‘Novak is probably going to be the best one out of everyone’ I would say personally.”
Novak Djokovic recently pulled out of Toronto Masters due to fatigue and will take part in Cincinnati.
