Rafael Nadal is all set to return to the tour as he has confirmed his participation in Cincinnati Open. Nadal had pulled out of the Canadian Open recently as he was yet to fully recover from the abdomen injury, which he suffered while playing in the quarterfinals of Wimbledon 2022 against Taylor Fritz.
The Spaniard was able to get past the American in a thrilling five-set contest but he had to pull out of the semifinals against Nick Kyrgios. A couple of weeks ago, the veteran had started with light training and he is now all set to make a comeback.
Nadal took to Instagram to post to picture of himself and said he is very happy to play again in Cincy.
Meanwhile, Rafael Nadal has been in fantastic form and he will look to continue his good show. The 36-year-old has a 35-3 record in the season and he has ticked all the right boxes.
Nadal had won the Australian Open and followed it with a record-extending win at Roland Garros, to win his 22nd Grand Slam title.
On the other hand, Rafael Nadal has a 22-11 record at Cincinnati Open and won the title back in 2013. The Spaniard had also won the US Open in that season and he will look to prepare in the best possible manner for the New York Major.
Nadal had won the US Open on four occasions and he will be looking to clinch his fifth title in New York and join the elite list of Roger Federer, Pete Sampras, and Jimmy Connors, all of whom have won US Open on five occasions.
The Western and Southern Open will kick off on August 13 while the US Open will commence on August 29.
