The Golden State Warriors have been at their rampant best against the Memphis Grizzlies as they lead the series 2-1 heading into the fourth game in the second round of the playoffs. In Game three, the Warriors won 142-112 as they produced a sensational shooting display on the night.
While Stephen Curry ended the game with 30 points, it was youngster Jordan Poole who caught the eye with his exceptional shooting from the bench. The guard scored 27 points and changed the game on its head. The Warriors shot a mammoth 63% from the field. They also scored 17/32 shot from beyond the arc as Poole, Curry and Klay Thompson were just showing off their skills in shooting.
The Warriors after their massive performances in these games are the favourites to win the Western Conference. If they win the conference semifinals then they will face the winner of the Dallas Mavericks and Phoenix Suns game. So a lot of people fancy the Warriors above all the teams in contention in the West. Some even consider them to be favourites for the title this season.
Speaking about the Warriors and their ‘Big Three, Kendrick Perkins shared one of his thoughts on his appearance at the ‘First Take’. He shared how he would be breaking up the ‘Big Three’ at the Golden State Warriors by looking at Jordan Poole. He feels that Poole is already playing way better than his potential and there will be a time when the management will have to take a call. Perkins believes that it will be Klay Thompson making way for the youngster.
“Hell, yeah! Yes, they should. If I’m the Golden State Warriors and I’m looking at a young star on the rise in Jordan Poole and I’m looking at Klay Thompson,” Perkins stated. “This is no knock on Klay Thompson. But at some point, you’re gonna have to let Jordan Poole be the best he can be right now. But at some point, you’ve got to move forward and start to build. … At some point, every good thing have to come to an end.”
But for now Steve Kerr and the players will be looking to challenge for the title as they have enough firepower in their team to be a real force and can win the NBA Championship this season.
