Miami Heat are one more win away from the NBA finals after they beat Boston Celtics 112 to 109 in the Eastern Conference finals game four on Wednesday to lead the series 3-1.
However, it was Rookie Tyler Herro who stole the headlines as he scored a career-high 37 points while Jimmy Butler was highly influential as he scored 24 points as well, Goran Dragic had 22 points, and Bam Adebayo added 20 points and 12 rebounds.
Herro himself stated that the team still has a lot to do even at 3-1, while the coach of Miami Heat, Erik Spoelstra, spoke of the 20-year-old Herro’s confidence as one of his key attributes.
“He has a great competitive humility about him. He has confidence. He has a fearlessness that is uncommon. But he is humble enough to work, to be coachable, to take the mentorship from the veteran players that we have on our team, and he just continues to gain more confidence as we go.” Miami Heat coach Erik Spoelstra was quoted saying.
With the 37 points, 17 of which came in the fourth quarter of the game, Herro beats Dwayne Wade’s Miami Heat’s Rookie record of 27 in 2004.
Boston Celtics coach Brad Stevens also praised Herro’s performance, describing it as ridiculously good while praising his shot-making as the difference-maker.
For the Celtics, Jayson Tatum scored 28 points in the second half while Jaylen Brown had 21 points, Kemba Walker scored 20, Gordon Hayward followed with 14, and Marcus Smart had added 11 assists to his 10 points.
The game five of the series will come up on Saturday, while in the Western Conference finals between Denver Nuggets and Los Angeles Lakers will come up on Friday morning.
