“We didn’t take care of the ball,” Los Angeles Lakers superstar Anthony Davis admits that they were lacklustre with the ball as they lost to Chicago Bulls

Anthony Davis led Los Angeles Lakers lost 118-108 against the Chicago Bulls in a crucial play in or playoffs contention clash. The Lakers never looked like they were in the game as they trailed by 20 points after the second quarter.

The result was surprising but what was more surprising was Lebron James’ return back to the court after suffering from right foot tendon injury. He was sidelined since February 26th and finally makes his return. But it was not enough to boost the morale of the other players to win the game.

Speaking after the game, Anthony Davis opened up on the Lakers and their inability to take care of the ball. He also credited the Bulls for making good shots and criticised his players for not taking as many shots as he would have liked.

“Didn’t take care of the ball. 18 turnovers, 34 points (off turnovers), gonna be hard to win basketball games like that,” Davis said. “Give them credit, they came out and shot the ball really well. Guys that we wanted to shoot made shots. We didn’t make shots. Obviously, getting Bron back, trying to get back in the swing of things.”

However he feels that there’s more chances as they will play the Bulls again on Wednesday and would like to show them a different level of play as they desperately need wins to push forward in the standings.

“We’re not getting discouraged — obviously we wanted to win that game. We got another one against that team Wednesday. We’ll look to get some get back,” Davis continued.

Davis highlights that the players need to be in sync and got to have a positive energy when they are on court. He advises them to play hard on both ends of the court. He understands that these seven games will be make or break for the Lakers in this campaign.

We just gotta come out and continue to play on both ends of the floor, like we did the past couple of games, with whoever is in the lineup. Whether he’s starting, coming off the bench, not playing, whoever is playing. Continue to have that same energy after the urgency that coach preaches about, over the last seven games,” Davis concluded.

Davis scored 15 points on the night along with five assists and nine rebounds. He also got a block and a single steal. LeBron James, who returned to the court after almost a month, came off the bench for the first time since 2007 scored 19 points along with eight rebounds and three assists in only 30mins of play.

Meanwhile Bulls star player Zach LaVine scored the game high of 32 points and mustered two rebounds and four assists.

The Lakers are currently ninth in the Western Conference with an average record of 37-38. They will go up against the Bulls once again on Wednesday and will hope they get a win and climb up the ladder.
