Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has stated that he wants to win more trophies with the Los Blancos as the club prepares for their UEFA Super Cup match against Eintracht Frankfurt in Helsinki, Finland, on Wednesday.
Real Madrid won the La Liga and the UEFA Champions League double last season after beating Liverpool 1-0 in the final in Paris. Frankfurt, on the other hand, defeated the Scottish side Rangers in the UEFA Europa League final.
The German club will face the 14-time UEFA Champions League winners in Finland, and Ancellotti has made the impression that the Spaniards are there to win the cup after he stated that the winning feeling is incredible and want to experience more of it with Real Madrid and if possible win all available 6 trophies to Los Blancos next season.
“We’re going to fight for every competition, although winning all six will be difficult. That’s really difficult. But, it’s a very good squad, and I am confident about it. I think it’s a better squad than last year. So, we’re going to compete in every tournament. That’s what we can control. Winning is always special. If we win, I feel happy. If we don’t, I feel sad.” Ancelotti said.
The match at the Olympic Stadium will be the second term both sides will meet in the UEFA Super Cup after the 1960’s Super Cup when Real Madrid defeated Frankfurt 7-3.
It will be the first European club competition match to have the Semi-Automated Offside Technology in use.
Real Madrid have played the Super Cup 7 times and have won on four different occasions, with the last time in 2017.
Frankfurt has never won the UEFA Super Cup match before, and whoever wins on Wednesday will replace Chelsea, who won the last UEFA Super Cup in Belfast after beating Villarreal on penalties after a 1-1 draw in regulation time.
