The city of Turin in Italy is about to light up this weekend when defending champions and current league leaders Juventus FC travel across the city to face rivals Torino FC. The match will be played on November 2nd, 2019.
This week 11 Serie A fixture, otherwise known as the Derby Della Mole, is the 149th meeting between both clubs in the Italian Top tier. The Old Lady have been dominant in this fixture over the years. The Italian giants have won an overwhelming majority of their matches against II Toro. Winning 70 of the 148 games played so far in both clubs derby history. Juventus also currently enjoy an unbeaten ten-game run against their Turin rivals and will be looking to extend that when they square off against each other at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino on Saturday evening.
Juventus go into Saturday’s match in bullish form, having earned an impressive 26 points out of 30 in their opening 10 fixtures played so far in their league campaign. The 35-time Scudetto winners will be confident of maintaining their unbeaten run in this campaign as they step up preparations for this weekend’s game.
Juventus manager Maurizio Sarri goes into this fixture with not too many injury concerns. Giorgio Chiellini and Mattia Perin remain long term absentees through injury. Gonzalo Higuain and Miralem Pjanic, who both missed Wednesday’s 2-1 win over Genoa CFC, could be fit to face Torino after picking up minor injury knocks.
However, French midfielder Adrien Rabiot is sure to miss the Turin derby following suspension after picking up a red card in the aforementioned victory over Genoa. Portuguese striker Cristiano Ronaldo will most likely lead the line as he goes in search of his 6th goal of the ongoing league season.
In contrast, Walter Mazzarri’s Torino has endured an indifferent start to the season, already losing five of the ten league matches that they have played this season. A midweek 4-0 drubbing away at the hands of SS Lazio will not have made for ideal preparations ahead of the Turin derby. Coach Walter will have no time to feel sorry for himself as he gets his team ready as they attempt to snatch an unlikely win against the Old Lady.
We wait to see if Torino Captain Andrea Belotti can lead his men to a famous victory when the match kicks off 8:45 PM. Saturday evening.
Juventus are pegged at 1.57 to secure another victory over Torino, while Torino is available at 6.59
