The Serbian made public his intention to make a significant donation towards helping out health authorities in their fight against the widespread of the coronavirus pandemic.
COVID-19, as it is known in general, has wreaked havoc in several European countries and the world at large. It might not be the deadliest disease planet earth have ever had to battle. However, the ease of transmission is a source of concern for health authorities and medical personnel.
The ever-growing number of people who have contracted the virus seems to have overwhelmed medical facilities who no longer have enough equipment to take care of all their patients. Djokovic has decided to lend a helping hand to the fight against the virus.
The world number one, just like every other celebrity who has donated to this cause, is full of empathy. It, therefore, feels like no surprise to see the Serbian help out health authorities with a fraction of his wealth.
Novak Djokovic focuses his gaze on the light at the end of the tunnel. The Tennis star is confident that an end could be brought to the end of the crisis.
“The fight is not easy, numbers are not pleasant, but I am convinced that we will manage to make it out of this stronger than before. It is important to remain united in this fight, to help each other, so we can defeat this virus faster and easier.
We would like to use this opportunity to invite everyone else to join us and help numerous families and people who need help to survive and get healthy again.”
Djokovic would be donating a noble sum of one million Euros via the Novak Djokovic Foundation. The donation is poised to be used for the purchase of ventilators so that hospitals and medical facilities can have the poise and equipment to care for people who are especially ill and are in emergency situations.
